— Rock County Historical Society docents Jen Sawyer and Gail Fitzgerald set newly polished silverware and a tray of vinegar cruets on the dining room table at the Lincoln-Tallman House, 440 N. Jackson St., Janesville, in preparation for holiday tours.

The tours will start Nov. 17 and end Dec. 30, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The hour-long tour starts at 10 a.m. from the Helen Jeffris Wood Museum Center, 426 N. Jackson St., Janesville. The last tour leaves the museum center at 3 p.m.

Cost is $8 for adults, $7.50 for senior citizens, $4 for students 6 to 18 and free for those 5 and younger.

Fitzgerald, who has floral arrangement experience, is a new docent and has been working with RCHS Executive Director Madge Murphy to create a new look for the holiday decorations at the house this year. Clothing and other goodies will be brought out of the Tallman collection for display.
