Woman killed in Christmas rollover on Interstate
Joyce A Martin, 60, was killed after her husband, Calvin S. Martin, 65, fell asleep at the wheel around 12:45 p.m., said a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper.
“He overcorrected,” said Trooper Jim Yost, after the 2004 Buick LeSabre he was driving drifted onto the left shoulder of the road and crossed two lanes of traffic before rolling and landing on its roof.
The couple had been to church and were on their way to Rockford to visit family, the trooper said.
Calvin was transported to Mercy Hospital, where he was treated and released, said a Janesville Fire Department spokesman.
Both of the Martins were wearing seatbelts, according to the state patrol.
