City announces holiday closures

— The city of Janesville will close facilities for the holidays.

Most city facilities will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 24-25, and Jan. 1. That includes the city services center, municipal building, senior center and offices for the fire and police administration and the water and wastewater utility.


The Hedberg Public Library will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1. On Dec. 31, the library will close at 1 p.m.


The ice arena will be closed Dec. 24-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The arena will reopen Jan. 2.


There will be no indoor lap swim at Marshall Middle School on Dec. 24-27, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.


The Janesville City Council meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, in council chambers.


JTS will stop providing service at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 24, and will be out of service all day Dec. 25. Regular service will resume at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26. JTS regular routes will not operate Tuesday, Jan. 1. Services will resume at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2. With the Janesville public schools closed for holiday break, extra service routes will not operate Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. Extra services routes will resume Wednesday, Jan. 2.


If your trash or recycling day is Tuesday, Dec. 25, place your trash or recyclables out for collection Wednesday, Dec. 26. If your trash or recycling collection is Tuesday, Jan. 1, place your trash and recyclables out for collection Wednesday, Jan. 2.
