— Relay power helped produce a title for Janesville Craig High School’s boys swim team in the Elkhorn Invitational.

The Cougars rode victories in the 200- and 400-meter freestye relays to a 420-point total and decisive triumph Saturday in the 12-team competition. Elkhorn’s A team was second with 344, followed by Greenfield/Greendale, 331; and Janesville Parker, 250.

Nick Hazekamp won the 400-meter freestyle in 4:31.36 for Craig only individual first-place finish.

The 200 freestyle relay was the turning point for Craig in a come-from-behind effort. Matt Enloe, Tyler Rockenfield, Scott Fry and Tyler Teuscher won with a 1:47.83 time, while Josh Babcock, Sean Davis, Josh Terry and Nick Strub gave the Cougars a fourth-place finish in 1:51.21.

“Taking first and fourth in that event was huge,’’ Craig coach Jeremy Meserole said. “We were down by 23 points going in, then were up by 20 after, and never looked back.’’

Hazekamp, Enloe, Teuscher and Babcock added the finishing touches by winning the 400 freestyle relay in 4:03.39.

Marcus Genrich won the 100 breaststroke for Parker in 1:14.45.
