Craig, Parker fall in Big Eight swimming

Janesville Parker High ran into Big Eight powerhouse Madison West and suffered a 136-33 loss in a conference dual meet Friday.

Egeman Gozoglu, a foreign exchange student from Turkey, won the 100 butterfly (58.25) for the Vikings’ lone individual victory. The Vikings’ Marcus Genrich finished second in the 100 breastroke (1:06.56).

Parker, 0-3 in the Big Eight, will swim in the Elkhorn Invitational at 10 a.m. today.

Craig falls to Memorial

Janesville Craig High put up a good fight, but Madison Memorial rolled to a 114-56 victory in Big Eight Conference boys swimming.

Craig won the 200 medley relay (1:48.68) with Nick Hazekamp, Sean Davis, Josh Terry, and Tyler Rockenfield. Josh Terry won the 200 breastroke (1:08.51) for Craig’s lone individual victory.

“We went into the meet a little sore and tired from the last few weeks of practice,” Craig coach Jeremy Meserole said.

The Cougars will swim in the Elkhorn Invitational at 10 a.m. today.
