Craig girls win wild one over West

— A fourth-quarter rally carried Janesville Craig High School to 65-54 victory over Madison West in girls Big Eight Conference basketball Saturday.

The Cougars trailed 43-41 after three quarters, but rallied behind a 20 for 24 free-throw shooting performance in the final two minutes for the victory.

In the decisive final stretch, the Regents were tagged with three technical fouls.

“It was just wild,” Craig coach Mark Marsden said. “We did a great job at the foul line.’’

Craig’s Whitney Storbakken scored 17 points, including an 8 for 9 effort from the foul line.

The Cougars improve to 3-2 in the Big Eight.

Sophomores—Craig 76, West 64. Craig is 5-0 in the Big Eight Conference and 6-1 overall.
