Edgerton High had the first thrill, but Orfordville Parkview’s league-leading girls basketball team had the final say Thursday night.


After the visiting Crimson Tide jumped off to a 10-2 lead, the Vikings retaliated with 14 straight points and went on to a 56-35 victory that kept them atop the Rock Valley Conference at 3-0.


Tiffany Draeving scored 10 of her 12 points in the final two quarters to help Parkview pull away from a 26-23 halftime lead. The Vikings took control in a 16-8 third period as they pushed their season record to 5-1.


Jenna Larsen was Parkview’s game leader with 13 points. Bri Cox had 13 for Edgerton, which fell to 1-2 in the conference.

n Big Foot 53, Palmyra-Eagle 23—Walworth Big Foot jumped off to a 17-4 lead in the first quarter and went to a 2-1 record in the Rock Valley with a decisive victory at Palmyra.


Haley Schwartz had nine points to pace eight scorers for the Chiefs, who dropped the Panthers to 1-2.

n Brodhead 52, Evansville 46—Brodhead rallied from an 18-11 halftime deficit to pull away defending champion Evansville (1-2) and go 2-1 in the Rock Valley.


Alyssa Harding scored 11 of her 15 points in the second half to spark the host Cardinals’ comeback. She was four of six from the line in the fourth quarter.


Evansville senior guard Alicia Kopp led all scorers with 18 points in the game that included 50 fouls and 57 free throws.

Liz Althoff, the Rock Valley scoring leader, set the pace with 20 points as the Cougars climbed to 2-1 in conference play. Kara Risseeuw added 11 to the winning total.
