Police arrest two in home burglaries
Daniel J. Clarke, 17, of 943 Prairie View Circle, Oconomowoc, and Nicholas S. Wosinski, 18, of N8783 Clover Leaf Lane, Whitewater, each face a combination of 60 burglary, theft and criminal damage to property charges, both felony and misdemeanor, for reportedly breaking into homes Oct. 28, 29 and 30, according to criminal complaints.
Police found stolen property at a house where the two stayed. A third juvenile might have played a role in some of the burglaries, the complaint states.
Complaints describe smash-and-grab burglaries to homes and cars after the burglars broke in through garage doors. They took items such as checkbooks, wallets, loose change and global positioning system units.
Police recorded 32 complaints over the three days.
Both teens admitted to at least some of the burglaries, according to the complaints.
Clarke admitted he and Wosinski threw bicycles through windows because they “wanted to see what it would do.” The two also sprayed the inside of a car with chemicals and dumped soda and sand in it, said Clarke, who told police he thought it was funny.
The third juvenile acted mostly as a lookout, Clarke said.
Clarke has pending cases for burglary and possessing a dangerous weapon at school. Wosinski has pending cases for bail jumping, delivering narcotics and theft.
Both have preliminary hearings scheduled Jan. 2.
