Orfordville Parkview High School’s boys basketball team was back in form Thursday night in keeping pace with the Rock Valley leaders.


The host Vikings (3-1) rebounded from a Tuesday night nonconference loss at Belleville to dominate Walworth Big Foot, 59-48, and go 2-0 in the conference.


Sophomore guard Nick Melton led Parkview with 16 points, and Alex Mumm added 10. Sophomore forward Nathan Nagel led Big Foot (1-2, 1-1) with a game-high 17.

Clinton 52, Brodhead 41—Grant Oldenburg scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half at Brodhead to put a lock on Clinton’s second Rock Valley victory.


The Cougars (3-2, 2-0) pulled away from a 22-18 halftime edge with a 14-7 advantage in the third quarter. Oldenburg, a 6-foot senior guard, contributed five field goals to that surge and added 10 points in the final period as Clinton maintained its 11-point lead. Keifer Cary added 13 points to the winning total.


Ryan Miller and Trenton Klein scored 15 and 10 points, respectively, for Brodhead, but the Cardinals (2-3, 0-2) suffered their third straight loss.

Turner 59, Palmyra-Eagle 42—Kyle Treptow led the way with 21 points as Beloit Turner (1-2) notched its first win of the season and evened its Rock Valley record at 1-1.


Treptow had six points in each of the first two quarters to help the Trojans build a 32-19 halftime lead at Palmyra.


Jaron Bertelsen added 11 points for Turner, including both of the Trojans’ three-point goals, and Cory Fritz scored 14 points for the Panthers (0-4, 0-2).
