Janesville Parker High’s wrestling team won the early season battle Friday night for Big Eight Conference supremacy.

The defending dual and conference meet champion Vikings rolled past host Middleton, 54-20. Parker (2-0) got seven pins, including a pivotal fall from Lewis Lobrano at 215, en route to the easy win.

With Parker knocking off Middleton after the Cardinals had defeated Janesville Craig earlier this season, the Vikings find themselves in the driver’s seat.

“We’re a pretty happy right now because this was a huge win for us,” Parker assistant coach Andy Tubbs said. “This is the second year in a row we’ve come up here and beat them in their own gym.”

After Middleton won the opening match to take a 6-0 lead, Parker responded with wins in the next six matches. Harold Lloyd (285) and Ryan Holden (112) won by pins, while Evan Cavey (119) and Dustin Rucinski (125) were winners by decision.
