Craig wrestlers lose Big Eight opener

The Janesville Craig Cougars lost a tough Big Eight opener, 37-27, against Middleton as the Cardinals scored victories in the final 10 seconds of four different matches.

Three Craig freshmen and one sophomore on the young team were the victims of the last-second Middleton wins. The Cougars had four freshmen and three sophomores in their starting lineup.

The Cougars got victories from Sevin Furseth (103), Troy Davis (135), Trevor Gregoire (160), Blair Kessler (215) and Boyd Maske (285).

But the Cougars lost close matches at 112, 119, 130 and 152.
