Badger Conference powerhouses Stoughton and Milton wrestle tonight at the Field House in Madison.

In what has long been one of the state’s most heated rivalries, this season’s Badger South dual meet begins at 5:30 p.m. It will be a prelude to the University of Wisconsin’s Big Ten Conference match against Maryland at 8 p.m., which will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Tickets are $2 for both matches and will be available starting at 4:30 p.m. The first 2,000 fans through the door will receive commemorative tickets for this special event.

There will also be a special recognition of the two cornerstones of the rivalry: Bob Johnson, a long-time coach at Milton who helped shape the rivalry between the two schools; and Bev Pieper, wife of legendary Stoughton coach Vern Pieper, who died Oct. 1 at the age of 81.

Stoughton was the Division 1 state runner-up last season and ended Milton’s 23-year streak of winning either a conference dual meet or tournament title.
