Mari-Scarlett Mackey and Jonathan Hirte are engaged and planning a Saturday, Oct. 20, wedding at Utica Baptist Church, Utica, Ky.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dianne Burns and James Henry Mackey, Utica, Ky. She graduated from Daviess County High School, Owensboro, Ky., and received a degree from Belmont University, Nashville, Tenn. She is self-employed in Washington, D.C.

Her fiancé is the son of Grace and Richard Hirte, Delavan. He graduated from Faith Christian School, Williams Bay, and received a degree from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich. He is employed by the U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C.

DeHaan and Baur

Engagement

Kylee DeHaan and Tyler Baur are engaged and planning a Sunday, Oct. 14, wedding at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church, Elkhorn.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kimberly and David DeHaan, Elkhorn. She graduated from Elkhorn Area High School, Elkhorn, in 2006 and received degrees in marketing and finance from UW-La Crosse in 2010. She is employed by DeHaan RV Center, Elkhorn.

Her fiancé is the son of Cindy and Ray Baur, Elkhorn. He graduated from Elkhorn Area High School, Elkhorn, in 2005 and received a master’s degree in applied statistics from UW-Milwaukee in 2011. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree and is employed by UW-Milwaukee.

Elizabeth Baumgartner and Adam Bass are engaged and planning a Saturday, Oct. 6, wedding at Orchard View Alliance Church, Janesville.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tina and Bruce Baumgartner, Janesville. She graduated from Parker High School, Janesville, in 2008 and is studying nursing at Blackhawk Technical College. She is employed by Monroe Clinic, Monroe.

Her fiancé is the son of Anne and Roger Bass, Brodhead. He graduated from Brodhead High School, Brodhead, in 2007 and received a degree in criminal justice from Blackhawk Technical College in 2009. He is employed by the Green County Sheriff’s Department.

Becky (Grorud) Ludwig and Scott Dagenhart were married Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Chapel at Luxor, Las Vegas.

Evelyn Dagenhart, Janesville, is the mother of the groom.

Carrie Chesebro, niece of the bride, and Danielle Ludwig, daughter of the bride, were the matron and maid of honor.

Don Chesebro, friend of the groom, and Ron Ludwig, son of the bride, were the best men.

The bride graduated from Parker High School, Janesville, in 1982 and received a degree in mammographic radiologic technology from UW-Madison in 1985. She is employed by Dean Clinic Janesville East.

The groom graduated from Parker High School, Janesville, in 1979 and is employed by Gordie Boucher, Janesville, as the operations manager.

The newlyweds reside in Milton.

Jennifer Ehlers and Lawrence Griffin IV were married Saturday, June 9, at Saint Luke Church, Chicago.

Their parents are Susan and Timothy Ehlers, Janesville; Carol Griffin and Frank Higgins, Chicago; and Lawrence Griffin III and Kay Teehan, Winter Haven, Fla.

Tamara Myers, friend of the couple, was the maid of honor. Gregory Griffin, brother of the groom, was the best man.

The bride graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 1996 and received a degree in packaging engineering and graphic design from UW-Stout in 2003. She is employed by LBP Manufacturing, Chicago.

The groom graduated from Lake Gibson High School, Lakeland, Fla., in 2002 and received a degree in game design from Columbia College in 2012. He is employed as the co-founder of Cosmosaur, Chicago.

The newlyweds reside in Chicago.

Nicole Guth and Jeremy Olson were married Saturday, June 16, at O’Brien Barn, Brooklyn.

Their parents are Cindy and Allan Guth, Evansville, and Tonia and Ron Anderson, Rockford, Ill.

Erin Jablonski, sister of the bride, and Katelyn Demrow, friend of the bride, were the maids of honor. Dennis Olson, grandfather of the groom, and Matt Cudney, friend of the groom, were the best men.

The bride graduated from Evansville High School, Evansville, in 2006 and received a degree in physical education from UW-Whitewater in 2011. She is employed by the Madison School District.

The groom graduated from Parkview High School, Orfordville, in 2006 and is employed by Viking Chemical Co., Rockford, Ill.

The newlyweds reside in Evansville.

JANESVILLE—June and Leonard Loertscher will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary at the Crosby Place, Janesville. Their family also gave them a gift certificate to The Fireside.

They were married Sept. 27, 1947, in Medford. He is retired. She retired in March as a nurse at Cedar Crest.

Their family includes Dennis and Donna Loertscher and Jackie and Leonard Loertscher Jr., all of Janesville, and Terry and Jack McClung, Oconomowoc. They also have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

JANESVILLE—Jean and Karl Thom celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 8 at Lake House Inn in Edgerton.

Thom and Jean Babcock were married Sept. 13, 1952, in Janesville. He is retired from General Motors, Janesville. She is retired from Fashion Bug.

Their family includes Karliene Thom, Vicki Thom and Renae and Tom Holloway, all of Janesville, and Nancy and Greg Dziedzic, Elkhorn. They also have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

ORFORDVILLE—Betty and Jim Dickison celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 8 at Prime Quarter in Janesville.

Dickison and Betty Khalar were married Sept. 8, 1962, in Beloit. They are both retired from Beloit Corp.

Their family includes Cindy and Will Brown, Delavan, and Chris and Shannon Dickison, Orfordville. They also have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

BELOIT—Cindi and Steve Weaver celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary by going on a cruise through the Panama Canal.

Weaver and Cindi Rae Karberg were married Sept. 17, 1977, in Beloit. He is employed by Gleason Cutting Tools, Loves Park, Ill. She is employed by Junig Law Office, Beloit.

Their family includes Amber and Cody Phillips and Justin Weaver, all of Beloit.

MILTON—Betty and Bob Kuranz celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 20.

They were married Sept. 20, 1952, in Oregon, Ill. He is retired from Parker Pen, Janesville, as a research chemist. After retiring, Bob went into business for himself as a forensic ink analyst. She is retired from Janesville Medical Center as a registered nurse.

Their family includes Sandy and Bernie Skaife, Janesville, and Jody and Jack Stoiber, Greenfield. They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
