Tracy and Collins

Engagement

Sarah Tracy and Ronnie Collins are engaged and planning a Saturday, Dec. 29, wedding at Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church, Janesville.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Judy and John Tracy, temporarily residing in San Diego. She graduated from Milton High School, Milton, in 1993, received a degree in exercise sport science and teaching from UW-La Crosse in 1999, and received a master’s degree in human resource management from Webster University in 2007. She is employed by Seymour School District, Seymour, as a high school physical education teacher and swimming and track and field coach, and by the U.S. Army Reserves, Fort Jackson, S.C., as a human resources officer.

Her fiancé is the son of Anne Collins, Raleigh, N.C., and Ronnie Collins Sr., Salisbury, N.C. He graduated from Ravenscroft High School, Raleigh, N.C., in 1997 and received a degree in English from University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2002. He is employed by the U.S. Army as a chemical officer, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

Tjaden and Balster

Engagement

Katie Tjaden and Tony Balster are engaged and planning a Saturday, Dec. 29, wedding at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Minneapolis.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Barb Knickerbocker and Paul Tjaden, both of Janesville. She graduated from Parker High School, Janesville, in 2002, received a degree in liberal arts from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2006 and received a master’s degree in arts and cultural management from St. Mary’s University in 2008. She is employed by Hennepin Theatre Trust, Minneapolis.

Her fiancé is the son of Shirley and Tom Balster, Minneapolis. He graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School, Minneapolis, in 2000 and received a degree in journalism advertising from University of St. Thomas in 2005. He is employed by Data Recognition Corp., Maple Grove, Minn.

Pfeifer and Brown

Wedding

Whitney Pfeifer and Matthew Brown were married Saturday, Aug. 4, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Helenville.

Their parents are Jayne and Terry Pfeifer, Cambridge, and Ann and Warren Brown, Milton.
Tayler Pfeifer, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Mathew Yonke, friend of the groom, was the best man.

The bride graduated from Lakeside Lutheran High School, Lake Mills, in 2005 and received a degree in early-middle childhood education from Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee, in 2009. She is employed by the Cambridge School District.

The groom graduated from Milton High School, Milton, in 2005, received a degree in physics from UW-Whitewater in 2009 and a degree in biomedical technology from Milwaukee Area Technical College 2012. He is employed by Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville.

The newlyweds reside in Fort Atkinson.

Crosby

Anniversary

JANESVILLE—Nelita Jane and Wesley W. Crosby celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family trip to Branson, Mo., in September.

Crosby and Nelita Jane Demrow were married Nov. 8, 1947, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He is retired from Ecolab, Roscoe, Ill. She is retired from Bishop Buffet, Janesville.

Their family includes Lynn and Tom Demerath, Janesville, and Barb and Rick Denison, Fort Wayne, Ind. They also have four grandchildren (one is deceased) and 13 great-grandchildren.

Wellnitz

Anniversary

JANESVILLE—Beatrice and Joseph E. Wellnitz will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with mass at St. John Vianney Parish at 9:45 a.m. today.

Wellnitz and Beatrice Riesterer were married Nov. 15, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Janesville. They both retired after 60 years of dairy farming.

Their family includes Herman and Jeannie Wellnitz, Brodhead; Colleen and Doug Hansen, Marquette, Mich.; Lucille and Mike Murphy, Milton; Cindy and Seth Johnson, Roscoe, Ill.; Joe and Patti Wellnitz, Hanover; Phil and Patti Wellnitz, Orfordville; the late Greg Wellnitz; Tina and the late Mark Wellnitz, Orfordville; Bernita and Tom Roth, Milton; Francis Wellnitz, Sun Prairie; and Tom and Donielle Wellnitz, South Wayne. They also have 47 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

JANESVILLE—Patricia and Steven Slinde will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip to Laughlin, Nev., at a later date.

Slinde and Patricia K. Raatz were married Nov. 17, 1972, in Dubuque, Iowa. He is employed by Advantage Sales and Marketing, Janesville. She is a housewife and grandmother.

Their family includes Michael and Gina Slinde, Janesville; Brian and Ann Slinde, Gibson City, Ill.; and Bradley and Jessica Slinde, Elkhorn. They also have nine grandchildren.
