JANESVILLE—Carol and Robert H. Birkholz celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family gathering Sunday.
Birkholz and Carol Colby were married Feb. 28, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Janesville. He is retired from General Motors, Janesville. She is retired from JCPenney, Janesville.
Their family includes Jenny and Joe T. Nunn, Janesville, and Ty Birkholz, La Crosse. They also have two grandchildren.

HAYWARD—Dorothy and Robert G. Hedman, formerly of Janesville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Jan. 8.
Hedman and Dorothy Marilyn Stevens were married Jan. 8, 1950, in Arkdale. He is a retired teacher and principal who worked 36 years; first in the Beloit and later in Janesville for both school districts. She is retired from J.M. Bostwick Department Store, Janesville, where she was a bookkeeper.
Their family includes Robert and Terry Hedman Jr., Kenosha; Steven Hedman, Hayward; Gregory and Marian Hedman, New Brighton; Terry Hedman, Machesney Park, Ill.; and Lori and Steve Terwileger, Osseo. They also have 10 grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Sandy and Kerry Jenkins, Elkhorn. She graduated from Elkhorn High School, Elkhorn, in 2006, and received a degree in early childhood education from Blackhawk Technical College, Janesville, in 2008. She is a self-employed nanny.
