Anniversary

JANESVILLE—Beth and Howard Weeden will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a family gathering. Weeden and Beth Johnson were married Nov. 21, 1939, in Richland County. He is retired from Ingersoll Milling Machine Company, Rockford, Ill. Their family includes Dawn Weeden, Mission, S.D.; Denise and Brian Weeden, Janesville; and Beth and Larry Weeden, Colorado Springs, Colo. They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Engagement

Tiffany Ann Baars and Kevin Daniel Schutt are engaged and planning a Saturday, Aug. 21, wedding at United Church of Christ, Fontana. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Marilyn and Bill Larson, Darien. She graduated from Delavan-Darien High School, Delavan, in 2005, and will receive degrees in sociology and public administration from UW-Whitewater in December. She is employed by First National Bank & Trust Company, Darien. Her fiancé is the son of Cherie and Dan Schutt, Darien. He graduated from Delavan-Darien High School, Delavan, in 2005. He is employed by Cooperative Plus, Clinton.

Wedding

Alana Coats and Greg Rankin were married Sunday, Aug. 9, at Rotary Gardens, Janesville. Their parents are Toni and Christopher Coats, Evansville, Bonnie Ritzert, Footville, and Dan Rankin, Janesville. Camilla Hansen and Melissa Shippee, friends of the bride, were the maid and matron of honor. Nate Rowley and Greg Selck, friends of the groom, were the best men. The bride graduated from Evansville High School, Evansville, in 2001. She received a degree in literary studies and secondary education from Beloit College, Beloit, in 2005, and will complete her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from National-Louis University, Beloit, 2011. She is employed by the Janesville School District as an English teacher at Parker High School, Janesville. The groom graduated from Parkview High School, Orfordville, in 2001. He received a degree in philosophy and literary studies from Beloit College, Beloit, in 2008, and will complete his master’s degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from UW-Madison in 2010. The newlyweds reside in Janesville.

JANESVILLE—Elizabeth H. and William B. Riemer will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a private family dinner. Riemer and Elizabeth H. Harris were married Nov. 26, 1949. He is retired from General Motors, Janesville. She is retired from Harris Ace Hardware, Janesville. Their family includes Candy Huber, Betsy and Dave Riemer, and Sarah and Tom Klawitter, all of Janesville; and Nan and Keith Storck, Queen Creek, Ariz. They also have 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

BELOIT—Antoye “Toni” and Steve Ryan Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with and open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Berean Baptist Church, Beloit. Ryan Sr. and Antoye “Toni” Jones were married Nov. 21, 1959 at Evangelical Free Church, Loves Park, Ill. He is semi-retired as owner of Ryan Heating and Air Conditioning, Beloit. She is a homemaker. Their family includes Cheryl and Steve Ryan Jr., Orfordville; Amy and Pete Newton, Evansville; Debbie and Paul Ryan, Bartlett, Ill.; Char Rebout and Joshua Ryan, Janesville; Jennifer Ryan and Julia and Jason Ryan, all of Beloit. They also have 13 grandchildren.

Rebecca Humphrey and Coy Hillstead were married Saturday, Aug. 8, wedding at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Janesville. Their parents are Sandy and Galen Humphrey, Janesville, and Julie and Larry Hillstead, Wilson. Heather Schneider, friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Mike Slagstad, friend of the groom, was the best man. The bride graduated from Craig High School, Janesville, in 2001, and received a master’s degree in psychology from UW-Stout, Menomonie, in 2007. She is employed by Maritz Research, Minneapolis. The groom graduated from Glenwood City High School, Glenwood, in 2001. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2005 and a master’s degree in training and human resource development in 2006 from UW-Stout, Menomonie. He is currently attending St. Mary’s University, Minneapolis, to receive a doctorate in education. He is employed by Rockler Companies, Medina, Minn. The newlyweds reside in Minnetonka, Minn.

Burns and Jerriann Jacobs were married Oct. 24, 1959, at United Methodist Church, Sharon. He is retired from IBM, Janesville. She is retired from M&I Bank, Beloit. Their family includes Robin Scott Burns, Janesville; Tracy Lee Burns, Miami Shores, Fla.; and Elizabeth and Jamey Ray Burns, Milton. They also have three grandchildren.

Wagner and Caroline Kroeger were married Nov. 21, 1959, in Sparta. He is retired from Coldwell Banker-First United Reality, Janesville. She is retired from Boston Store, Janesville. Their family includes Karen and Jeff Wagner, Chico, Calif.; Sandra and Glenn Jenkins, Cottage Grove; Deanne and Tom Wagner, Frisco, Texas; and Jennifer Wagner, Janesville. They also have seven grandchildren.
