JANESVILLE—Helen and John Nevins celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a family brunch at Lake Lawn Resort, Delavan. Nevins and Helen A. Lake were married Jan. 4, 1969, in Rockford, Ill. He is retired from the Janesville School District. She is retired from Blackhawk Technical College, Janesville. Their family includes Michael Nevins, Madison; Kathy and James Nevins, Fitchburg; Colleen and Darrell Shelby, Janesville; and Joseph Nevins, McFarland. They also have two grandchildren.

He received a degree in public administration from UW-Whitewater in 2008. He is employed by Sub Zero, Madison.
