Michelle Schmalz and Michael Brusberg are engaged and planning a May 3 wedding at St. Jude Catholic Church, Beloit.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Pamela and Steven Schmalz, Beloit. She graduated from Turner High School, Beloit, in 2002, and received an education degree with emphasis in mathematics from UW-Whitewater in 2007. She is a seventh grade mathematics teacher at Kenosha Unified School District No. 1.
Her fiancé is the son of Beth and Garey Brusberg, Beloit. He graduated from Turner High School, Beloit, in 1999, and received a finance degree with emphasis in economics from Carroll College, Waukesha, in 2003. He is financial analyst at Humana One, Waukesha and an adjunct professor at Carroll College, Waukesha.

DELAVAN—Catherine and Daniel D. Sargent, W7489 Pleasant St., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner later this spring. Also, they will be renewing their vows in Las Vegas this month.
Sargent and Catherine C. Bamford were married Feb. 22, 1958, in Delavan. He is retired from Sta-Rite Industries and Generac. She is a retired teacher from Wisconsin School For the Deaf.
Their family includes: Kelly and Dwayne Binstock, Elkhorn; Valerie Parks, Janesville; Pamela and Rob Ausen, Milton; Jackie and Danny Sargent Jr., Delavan; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
