ORFORDVILLE—Gerry and Glen Burtness will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a private family dinner at a later date
Burtness and Geraldine Luehrsen were married Nov. 26, 1957 at the Little Brown Church, Iowa. In 1944, Glen joined his father Elmer Burtness in the family business, Burtness Chevrolet. He became sole owner and operator in 1956 until his retirement in 1978.
Their family includes: Dennis and Sue Ann Belt, Mountain Home, Idaho; Kay and Denny Marinelli, Beloit; Jeff and Gina Burtness, Fort Wayne, Ind.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jessica Diers and Jared Spaeth were married Oct. 6 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Janesville.
Their parents are Janice and Michael Diers, 2404 Hickory Court, Janesville, and Joanna and Jeff Knutson, 2138 S. Oakhill Ave., Janesville.
Betsy Diers, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Adam Bunderson was the best man.
The bride graduated from Parker High School, Janesville, in 2001, and received a doctorate of pharmacy from Midwestern University this year. She is a pharmacist at Target.
The groom graduated from Parker High School in 2000 and received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater in 2005. He is an implementation manager with IKON Office Solutions.
The newlyweds live at 1834 S. Grant Ave., Janesville.

Chelsea Kaye Baus and Cody Ryan Marenes are engaged and planning a June 7 wedding at Luther Memorial Church, Madison.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kaye and Phillip Baus, Lancaster. She graduated from Lancaster High School and is attending Edgewood College, Madison.
Her fiancé is the son of Susan Farnsworth, Jeffrey Farnsworth and George Marenes, all of Evansville. He graduated from Evansville High School in 2003 and is attending Edgewood College.

Jessica R. Banaszynski and Michael J. Ehlers are engaged and planning a July 5 wedding at St. Joseph’s Church, Fort Atkinson.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Christine L. Banaszynski and Gregory A. Banaszynski, Fort Atkinson. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 2003 and is attending UW-Milwaukee for elementary education. She is employed at Fort Community Credit Union, Fort Atkinson.
Her fiancé is the son of Janice and George Ehlers, Janesville. He graduated from Lakeside Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, in 2004, and is attending UW-Whitewater for accounting. He is employed at MK Cellular, Lake Mills.

BELOIT—Beth and Henry Liptow, 3079 Riverside Drive, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Nov. 30 with a family dinner.
Liptow and Beth Montefelt were married Nov. 30, 1957. He is retired from Beloit Boy Board.
Their family includes: Cindy Ullius and Gary Eldred, Janesville; Sandra and Oliver Schwarz, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Debra and William Jones, Moore, Okla.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Nicole M. Miller and Joshua J. Speich were married Sept. 29 at Orfordville Lutheran Church.
Their parents are Laura Woodworth and Ken Miller, both of Evansville, and Debbie and Jed Speich, Orfordville.
Riley Miller, daughter of the bride, was the maid of honor. Brandie Gehin, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Justin Speich, brother of the groom, was the best man.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater and is a financial assistant at Oak Bank, Fitchburg.
The groom received a certificate from Blackhawk Technical College and is a machinist at Kuhn Knight Manufacturing, Brodhead.
The newlyweds live in Orfordville.

BELOIT—Debby and Jim Ovist, 2408 Lorena Drive, will celebrate their 25th anniversary with a family dinner. Also, they will be traveling to Aruba in March.
Ovist and Debby Hoffman were married Nov. 11, 1972, in Beloit. He retired early this year. She is employed at Blackhawk Bank, Beloit.
Their family includes: Jamie and Jodelle Ovist and Jason and Diana Ovist, all of Beloit, and four grandchildren.
