Graduates rushed to hug their choir teacher Gustavo Chaviano after singing 'For Good' during Sunday afternoon's commencement at Evansville High School.

Graduates should be themselves, push themselves and own their story, their social studies teacher DeeJay Redders told them in Sunday afternoon's commencement address.

Parker High grads seize inner superheroes

Janesville Parker High School's graduation Friday night had a superhero theme, complete with superman-themed student speeches. One student wore a necklace of candy Pop Rocks in special edition wrappers emblazoned with the mutant superhero troop X-Men. Valedictorian Rachel Perkins wore a cape decked out in green and gold.

Craig graduates set sail into the future

Craig seniors donned uniform caps and gowns, hugged and laughed, and tried to contain their nerves Thursday night in preparation for their graduation ceremony. The excitement was palpable.

Parkview students brave the heat to walk the stage

A chance of storms Sunday chased the Parkview High School graduation indoors.

The move didn't make things any cooler for students as they and many in the audience used graduation programs as makeshift fans. Humidity hovered over 50 percent for much of the day, making the school's gymnasium warm, to say the least, as the school graduated 63 students.

Clinton grads honor fallen classmate

During Clinton High School's graduation Saturday night, some students took the opportunity to remember classmate Noah Morris, who was killed in an auto accident in the summer of 2012.

More than half of the school's 95 graduates decorated their caps with his initials and other insignia.

"It's a real honor," said Dessa Laursen, Noah's sister, who works at the school. "It feels really good to know people remember him. He was very positive. He was always smiling."
