Margaret (Peggy) Zahn passed away on May 30, 2014. She was born Aug. 27, 1931, of Roy E. And Pearl (Ahrbecker) Bahr in Janesville. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a lifelong resident of Janesville. She joined St. Matthews Lutheran Church in August of 1959, and was involved in many of the church activities and programs. On Dec. 27, 1951, she married Everett Zahn while he was in the Air Force. Their early married years were spent in Texas, and she had fond memories of those times. Everett died on March 26, 1990. Peggy worked for many years at Mutual Savings Bank followed by a few years at Johnson Bank. During her retirement years, Peggy took pride in being involved in many volunteering activities such as Adams School Breakfast Club and Meals on Wheels. She continued to stay busy in church activities and was also a member of Kayra and the Senior Center. Peggy was never too busy to have coffee with a friend or spend time with her family. These special times will always be cherished.

Peggy leaves two daughters, Dawn Wuthrich of Janesville, and Denise (Doug) Caldwell of Weedsport, NY; along with two grandchildren, Jason Wuthrich and Jamie (Jason) Gayne; plus four great grandchildren: Collin, Kaleb, Curtis and Abigail. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by Lucille (Toni) Larson, who was raised as her sister.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at ST. MATTHEW’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 709 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Pastor James Janke will officiate. Burial will follow in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11 a.m. Thursday at the CHURCH. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Zahn family is being assisted by HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME.
