BELOIT--The Beloit Snappers walked off as winners to open a Midwest League series against the Clinton LumberKings on Saturday.

The Snappers rallied in the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings and then stormed back again in the 10th to pull off a 6-5 victory at Pohlman Field.

Beloit led 3-2 in the ninth and was one out away from a win, but a costly error and two hits plated two runs. The Snappers tied the game in the bottom of the inning to force extra innings.

Clinton then regained the lead on Joe DeCarlo’s home run in the top of the 10th.

The Snappers battled back and tied the game, 5-5, on a squeeze play. They walked off winners when Boog Powell’s single led to an error that brought B.J. Boyd home.

The two teams play again this afternoon.
