Officers stop 93 vehicles in Rock County in Thursday operation

JANESVILLE—Local and state authorities made 11 drug-related arrests during a traffic-stop operation Thursday night, Janesville police reported.

Officers conducted "a criminal traffic interdiction targeting drug trafficking and gang activity in Rock County" between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m., according to a news release.

Officers made 93 traffic stops resulting in 11 arrests for alleged drug offenses. They reported seizing cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana and paraphernalia.

Officers also made seven other criminal arrests, issued 44 citations, initiated 12 probation/parole contacts, held six people at the county jail on probation violations  and arrested 17 people on warrants.

Drug-sniffing dogs were used 16 times during the night.

Participating in the effort were Janesville police, Rock County sheriff's deputies, the State Patrol, state Department of Corrections Probation Agents and the state Department of Criminal Investigation.
