Your Views: Gov. Walker’s protest of Affordable Care Act puts the seriously ill at risk
On Jan. 1, millions of America’s working poor and their families became eligible for health insurance through Medicaid. But Gov. Scott Walker has opted out of the Medicaid expansion, putting people in Wisconsin at risk of death or serious health problems in a dangerously misguided protest of the Affordable Care Act.
Denying federally funded health insurance to those in need is unconscionable. Republican governors in states such as Arizona and Ohio have relented and are accepting the funds.
We need to demand that the governor stop blocking Wisconsinites from receiving the health care coverage they deserve.
