Whitewater softball team advances at DIII World Series

UW-Whitewater's softball team kept its national title hopes alive Saturday.

Jo Jablonski had a home run and drove in three runs to lead Whitewater to a 5-0 win over East Texas Baptist in an elimiation game of the Division III Softball Championship.

Whitewater (32-11) plays Tufts University at 3:30 p.m. today.

The Warhawks scored two runs in the bottom of the second. Paige Evangelista tripled with one out and scored on Jablonski's second home run of the tournament. Samie Seamon added a solo shot in the fourth to make it 5-0.

Bekka Houda went the distance to get the win. Houda allowed only five hits and walked two.
