Rock County


— A 36-YEAR-OLD MAN Tuesday on a charge of sexual assault of a child. The man was accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old he is knows.

Intoxicated driving arrests

— NORMAN TRASKOS, at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday at 5037 E. County MM, town of Harmony. Traskos was arrested after he took a curve too fast while riding a motorcycle and crashed. He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, where he was being treated for broken legs and ribs, a skull fracture, and “severe road rash” on his left side. The Rock County Sheriff's Office did not include his age and address in its arrest report.


— BULLET HOLES, at 10:14 p.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 100 block of South Wright Street, Orfordville. A woman said she heard a loud “snap” while watching TV and later discovered two bullet holes in the east and west walls of her bedroom. The holes showed a bullet apparently had traveled in a path over her bed.  

— ARTHUR A. GURNEY, 41, of 539 Harvard Court, Janesville, charged with physical abuse of a child/intentionally causing bodily harm and disorderly conduct. He is accused of punching a teenager he knows in the face and pushing a woman to the floor during a domestic disturbance May 17 in Janesville.

— JEFFREY J. HICKMAN, 32, of 1117 MacArthur Drive, Janesville, charged with false imprisonment and disorderly conduct, both as instances of domestic abuse. He is accused of arguing and struggling with a woman he knows and then blocking her from leaving a room at his residence Monday.

— CANDICE J. DAVIS, 27, of 2120 Riverside Drive, No. 36, Beloit, charged with felony retail theft. She is accused of trying to take $607 worth of jewelry April 14 from ShopKo in Janesville.
