WHITEWATER—Two UW-Whitewater students were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of arson.

Curtis Schwab, 22, of Waukesha and Andrew Kvasnicka, 21, of Brookfield are accused of starting a home on fire Friday morning, according to a Whitewater Police Department news release.

Whitewater police and firefighters were dispatched to the home, 174 S. Whiton St., for a structure fire. When officials arrived, the home was on fire, the release states.

The fire was put out and “significant damage” was done. A damage estimate is not complete.

Two people with dark clothes were reported running from the house before the fire was reported. After gathering more information on suspects, police arrested the two males.

No one was home or injured during the fire, according to the release.

Charges were referred to the Walworth County District Attorney's Office.
