DELAVAN—A 26-year-old Delavan man is charged with felony fleeing an officer after leading police on a 8.4-mile car chase.

Anthony Chiapusio, of 5113 Highway 50, Delavan, reportedly disregarded a town of Delavan Police Department traffic officer's lights and siren at 1:54 a.m. May 2, at the intersection of Highway 50 and County Road F, according to a criminal complaint.

Chiapusio then "accelerated away and would not stop for officers," and he fled from police before his tires were deflated by spikes in the road. Chiapusio's car then became stuck in a field near the northbound lane of Interstate 43, the complaint states.

At one point, Chiapusio reached the speed of 110 mph, according to the complaint.

He is also charged with misdemeanor resisting a traffic officer.

Chiapusio will make an initial appearance in court at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Walworth County Judicial Center in Elkhorn.
