TOWN OF BELOIT--Only one business in the town of Beloit sold alcohol to a juvenile during the police department's alcohol license compliance check Friday, according to a news release.

According to the release from Sgt. Laura Palmer:

Clerk Tracey M. Dexter Dailey at Happy House Liquor, 1121 Elmwood Ave., received a citation during the operation, which was coordinated with Youth2Youth of Rock County.

Police periodically conduct compliance checks, and Palmer said she was pleased the majority of stores refused sale to the underage representative. She encouraged liquor license holders to be diligent in checking the identification of everyone buying alcohol.
