Janesville Parker’s boys tennis team came up just short in its Big Eight Conference dual meet Friday.

The Vikings won all three doubles matches, but Madison East swept the four singles matches to win 4-3.

Parker (1-4) got wins from Nick Gary and Sam Buck at No. 1 doubles; Zac Brandenburg and Kyle Popovich at No. 2, as well as Sam Amundson and David Howell at No. 3.

“Our doubles teams are really starting to put it together,” Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said. “The No. 3 team of Amundson and Howell lost a close one yesterday but got over the hump today and got a win.”

Parker competes in the Stoughton Invitational today.
