Visit Beloit unveils new Mobile Welcome Center
BELOIT—Staff at Visit Beloit have unveiled a new Mobile Welcome Center, which will hit the road this summer to promote Beloit.
The 2013 Ford XRT is the first and only vehicle of its kind in the stateline area, and it is designed to spread the word about what Beloit has to offer, according to a news release.
City and state officials unveiled the vehicle, which includes a widescreen TV, iPads and prize wheel, at a press conference Wednesday at the I-90/39 Wisconsin Welcome Center in Beloit.
“We plan on taking it across Wisconsin, into northern Illinois and even into Iowa as we reach out to the public and let them know about all Beloit has to offer, including our hugely popular farmers' market, our summer music concerts on the RiverFront, and many other great events such as the Beloit International Film Festival and Plein Air,” Monica Krysztopa, executive director for Visit Beloit, said in a statement.
Visit Beloit staff members performed “Random Acts of Hospitality,” including window washing, pet treats and giveaways, for travelers at the welcome center Wednesday. The campaign will continue throughout the year.
