Janesville man suspected of fourth OWI offense

JANESVILLE—Police arrested a Janesville man on suspicion fourth-offense drunken driving, saying he rear-ended another vehicle Tuesday afternoon at the Five Points intersection in Janesville.   

According to a release, Janesville police arrested Abdul Stewart, 51, Janesville, at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday.

He was driving north on Center Avenue when he ran into a car that was slowing for a yellow light. Abdul failed a field sobriety test at the scene of the crash, according to a release from police.

No one was injured in the accident, police said. Stewart is accused of driving with his license revoked, and was cited for following another vehicle too closely.

He was being held Tuesday at the Rock County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
