David S. Stalsberg, age 68, of Janesville, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at his home. David was born January 29, 1946, in Westby, WI, the son of the late Azel & Alice (Buros) Stalsberg. He attended schools in the Westby area. He then went to work at the Westby Creamery for several years, and then farmed in the rural Westby area. Dave came to Janesville to begin his employment with General Motors Corp. He retired from GM following a severe accident which disabled him.

David was a member of the U.A.W. Local 95. Dave enjoyed deer hunting and the outdoors. He spent much time watching his favorite TV shows, and always loved to spend time with his many friends meeting at Deano's! He was a hard working man, but always found the time to sit down and enjoy a good piece of Lemon Meringue Pie!

David is survived by his 3 children, David J. (Terri) Stalsberg, of Janesville, LuAnn (Rubin) Leeder, of Denver, CO, and Keith Stalsberg, of Ft. Wayne, IN, his 7 brothers and sisters: Arnie (Reta) Stalsberg, of Viroqua, WI; Norma Bekkum, of Westby, WI; Doris (Arnold) Marx, of Cashton, WI; Charles "Chubby" (Pat) Stalsberg, of Janesville; Carol (DuWayne) Peterson, of Belvidere, IL; Betty (Dan) Copeland, in Oregon; and Gary (Roxann) Stalsberg, of Westby, WI his 5 grandchildren: Christopher; Adam; Donovan; Jenna; and Jonathan, a sister-in-law, Eileen Stalsberg, of Janesville, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carmen and Lloyd Stalsberg, and a sister who died in infancy, Mae Stalsberg.

An informal visitation will take place from 12:00p.m - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
