Joseph A. Weins, age 56, a lifelong Janesville resident, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 1, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born January 11, 1958, in Janesville, the son of the late William & Agnes (Skelly) Weins. He attended school in Janesville, and was a graduate of Parker High School, Class of 1976. He attended Blackhawk Technical College, and received his Associate's Degree in Computer Science. Joe worked at Beloit Corp., and then worked at General Motors Corp. until he was permanently disabled in a traffic accident. On September 21, 1985, he married the former Nancy P. Terry at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Joe loved computers, and was very tech savvy. He loved the outdoors, and loved the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Joe had been a Boat Driver with the Rock Aqua Jays. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially with his daughter and his grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Lindsay (Phil) Wester, of Elkhorn, WI; his two beloved grandchildren; Marlee and Liam Wester, both of Elkhorn, WI; his two brothers, Brad (Mary) Weins, of Janesville, and Jim (Diane) Weins, of Milton; his two sisters, Peggy (Doug) Johnson, and Jean (Jeff) Ashenfelter, both of Janesville; his dear friend and the mother of his daughter, Nancy Terry Weins, of Janesville; his two aunts, Jean McCann and Kay Skelly; his two uncles, Lamar Kuhlman and Willis "Bill" Howland; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Martin and Bunny Terry, and by several aunts, uncles and cousins,

Funeral services with a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m.. on Monday, May 5, 2014, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 313 E. Wall St., with Fr. Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Little Liam Fund (Joe's grandson) in his name.
