Joyce Glogovsky, Janesville, WI (1938-2014)

Joyce Glogovsky, 76, was born on November 14, 1938 in Waukegan, Illinois. She passed into eternal life on May 3, 2014. Joyce graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1956. Upon graduation, she attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1960. During her time at Marquette she was a member of Phi Chi Theta. She worked as a buyer for Gimbels in Milwaukee, and Manchester in Madison. In 1968, she entered the graduate program at the University of Wisconsin and received a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction in 1970. During her attendance at the University of Wisconsin she was a member of Pi Lambda Theta. Upon graduation, Joyce became an elementary school educator in Janesville, Wisconsin, where she taught for 30 years, and retired in January of 2000.
Joyce was a loving and caring person who devoted her life to education, adventure and faith. Joyce enjoyed being an avid reader, devoted Packer fan and world traveler with many friends and family members. She also loved the theatre and classic movies. She was a member of St. John Vianney in Janesville, National Retired Teachers Association, Janesville Area Retired Teachers Wisconsin, Retired Educators Association, Friends of Hedberg Public Library, Friends of Rotary Garden, AARP, and University of Wisconsin Alumni Association.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Michael Glogovsky and Mary Macaitis and brothers, Richard M. Glogovsky and Robert (Maxine O’Connor) Glogovsky. She is survived by numerous cousins, friends, and two special godchildren Mark and Lauren Glogovsky.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Msgr. Don Heiar presiding. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.
