BELOIT—An investigation continues by the Beloit Police Department after two men were arrested Wednesday night and taken to the Rock County Jail.

The incident started at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Oak St. Before they arrived, Laquann J. Kendell, 20, Beloit, had fled the home.

Later and at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, an officer from the department's drug and gang unit noticed Kendell driving a vehicle in the area of St. Lawrence and Eighth Street. But before the officer could make a traffic stop Kendell pulled over at Vine and Roosevelt when he and Ronald L. Hicks, 28, no address given, fled on foot.

Witnesses told police both men entered the same house on Oak Street from Tuesday's incident.

That's when the department's Special Weapons and Tactics Team responded to assist officers and took both Kendell and Hicks into custody without incident.

Kendell was arrested on charges of domestic reckless endangering safety, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and a warrant through the Department of Corrections.

Hicks was arrested on a warrant through the Department of Corrections.
