Marian B. Ortmayer, 95, of Whitewater, died on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Fairhaven Nursing Home. She was born on July 12, 1918, in Phillips, WI, to William and Selma (Schwirske) Turner. She was married to Rev. Ronald Ortmayer on Dec. 30, 1941, by Bishop Frank E. Wilson of the Diocese of Eau Claire at St. Katherine's Church in Owen, WI. He preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1987. Marian grew up in Phillips, WI, graduating from Phillips High School in 1935. She graduated from the Stout Institute in 1939, in Home Economics. She was a teacher at Sevastopol, WI, and Owen-Withe, WI. Rev. Ronald and Marian lived in Janesville, WI, from 1959-1975, where Ronald was Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. Upon their retirement to Whitewater, in 1975, she was a member of Alpha-Omega Club and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she served on the altar guild. Marian was an accomplished crewel embroiderer, enjoyed bridge, was an excellent cook and a huge volunteer at many church events and functions.

Surviving are her three children: William R. (Maryann) Ortmayer of Palm Coast, FL, Mary Ann (Harry) Ortmayer-Knipp of Racine, WI, and Mark (Mary) Ortmayer of Green Bay, WI; six grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Jessica, Alex, Andrew and Megan; eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her younger sister, Ethel Moquin; and a younger brother, William C. Turner.

Memorial services will be held at ST. LUKE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 146 S. Church Street, Whitewater, at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, with the Rev. Oscar A. Rozo officiating.
