JANESVILLE—Lake Geneva Badger swept Janesville Craig and Fort Atkinson in a nonconference boys tennis triangular Saturday at the Palmer Park tennis courts.

Craig fell to Badger 6-1, but the margin between the teams was closer than the scoreline might indicate as they played three sets in three of those matches. The Cougars were 0-3 in those matches at No. 1 and 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.

“Badger played better than us at crucial times,” Craig coach Justin Long said.

The Blackhawks beat the Cougars 4-3, including wins in each of the first three singles matches.

“We just don’t have enough firepower to hang with those guys,” Long said.

Craig won two doubles matches against Fort Atkinson, including a 6-4, 6-3 win for Colton Spaeth and John Wysocki in their first varsity match playing together.

Ethan Eno won twice for Craig, once at No. 3 doubles against Lake Geneva Badger with teammate Connor Jensen and at No. 4 singles against Fort Atkinson.
