Sharon Lynn Carpenter, age 55, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital, Janesville, after a short illness. She was born on July 31, 1958, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Frank and Dorriane (Ofsthun) Carpenter. She was employed at General Motors in Janesville, until her retirement in 2007, and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. Sharon enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan. She loved animals, was very caring and would do anything for anyone. She like to visit and socialize with her friends and family. Sharon was a loving daughter, sister, friend and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her mother, Dorriane "Dorie" Carpenter of Evansville; her sister, Francis "Frannie" Carpenter of Fort Wayne, IN; two aunts; Betty Arndt of Janesville, and Dawn Ofsthun of Antigo, WI; several cousins; and a special friend, Ann Sellnow. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank; aunts, uncles, cousins and her loving chocolate lab, Sydalee.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at WARD-HURTLEY FUNERAL HOME, Evansville, with Reverend Matthew Poock of St. John's Lutheran Church, Evansville, officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be held in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville, at a later date.
