Emma Ray enjoyed her week in Janesville.

Three days after shutting out the Craig High softball team, Ray returned to the Youth Sports Complex and blanked Janesville Parker on Friday.

The Verona pitcher allowed one hit in five innings, striking out 11 and walking none to lead the Wildcats to an 11-0 Big Eight Conference victory.

“Kudos to her,” Parker coach Alli Driscoll said. “She’s probably the toughest pitcher we’ve seen.”

Verona scored in every inning and took advantage of six Parker errors.

Vikings catcher Andrea Coles had the team’s lone hit, a single in the fifth.

“We’ve had a tough draw, playing all the tough teams in the conference,” Driscoll said. “We’re keeping them going and we’ll keep fighting and keep getting better.”

Parker plays a conference doubleheader at Madison East today.
