Leland Eugene Schultz left this life on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI, surrounded by his family. He was born to Vernon and Elsie (Jensen) Schultz on Nov. 4, 1936, in South Beloit, IL. He married Judith Saunders in 1956. Leland was employed by General Motors in Janesville, WI, for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Local 95. He previously worked as a machinist, a cheese maker and a shoemaker, but his passion was farming and gardening. He also loved baseball and was a lifelong fan of the Yankees. A cherished memory was a trip to New York City, to Yankee Stadium to see them play. He could be found on many an afternoon in the garage listening to a ball game on the radio.

Leland is survived by his wife, Judith; daughter, Marilyn (Steven) Wilke of Brodhead; sons: Daniel (Lupe) of Beloit, Steven (Maria) of Brodhead, Jeffrey (Rose) of Wiota, WI; a sister, Shirley (Bruce) Sutherland; a brother, Harold, both of Brodhead; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Julie Schultz.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the PLEASANT VIEW NURSING HOME COMMUNITY ROOM, Monroe, WI. Visitation will be held from Noon until time of services. He was a gentle man whose greatest joy was his family.
