JANESVILLE—Fans of the suspense thriller “Wait Until Dark” might remember the 1967 movie starring Audrey Hepburn, whose portrayal of blind wife Susy Hendrix won her an Oscar nomination.

Janesville Little Theatre will perform the original play by Frederick Knott. It takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 and May 2-3, and 2 p.m. Sundays, April 27 and May 4, at the Janesville Performing Arts Center, 408 S. Main St.

For the uninitiated, the story follows a con man, Roat, and two ex-convicts who are trying to retrieve a doll stuffed with heroin. They've traced it to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix, who was persuaded to transport the doll across the Canadian border by a woman who later is found murdered. Sam is lured away from the apartment, and his blind wife, Susy, is left to figure out the con man's deadly game.

The cast features Bob Pohlman, Paul Casler, Ben Brantmeier, Danielle Chaviano, Ryan Crandall, Grace Heiss, Rich Donnelly and Alejandro Nieves. Steve Shaw directs.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $6 for students ages 13-18, plus the JPAC handling fee. To buy tickets, call 608-758-0297 or go to janesvillepac.org.
