Warren G. Petitt, age 86, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Janesville. He was born June 23, 1927, to the late Lester and Lurene (Carrel) Petitt in Beloit, WI. He married Eleanor Jensen on May 1, 1948, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Beloit. Warren was a 55 year member of Pella Lutheran Church until it closed. He worked at Fairbanks Morse for 42 years until his retirement in 1990, and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Warren enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards with friends, dancing, bowling and volunteering at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Most of all, he loved his family and cherished time with them.

Warren is survived by his three daughters: Linda (Ron) Loomis of Beloit, Debra (Doug) Armfield of Clinton, and Connie (Lynn) Tracy of Clinton; eight grandchildren: Juliene (Tim) Ewers, Matthew (Claudia Solis) Loomis, Erin (Pat) Duckett, Janel (John) Karstetter, Christopher (Katie Schmidt) Loomis, Pete (Mandi) Tracy, Danielle Tracy and Michael Armfield; eleven great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Marian Wyse; his breakfast buddy, Elmer Beyer; nieces, nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Heidi. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn (Ed) Girdler.

Warren’s Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014, at JEFFERSON PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 23184 Bergen Road, Poplar Grove, IL, with Pastor Thomas G. Groth officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the BRIAN G. MARK FUNERAL HOME, 504 Milwaukee Road, Clinton, and again on Friday at CHURCH from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service the cortege will proceed to Clinton Cemetery for interment and full military burial rites. A memorial is being established in Warren's name.
