JANESVILLE—An elderly Janesville man accused of hiring women for sex waived his preliminary hearing in Rock County Court on Tuesday.

Robert L. Patterson, 88, stood mute to the charges, and the court entered not-guilty pleas on his behalf.

Patterson, 404 Rockport Road, is charged with soliciting prostitutes and keeping a place of prostitution.

The criminal complaint alleges that Patterson took photographs of nude women for decades in a storage building on Delavan Drive and that he paid some of the women for sexual favors.

Defense attorney Tod Daniel said Patterson waived the preliminary hearing because the prosecution had agreed not to issue charges that are not already in the criminal complaint.
