Margery J. Buckeridge, Evansville, WI (1931-2014)

Margery was raised in Sheboygan, WI, born on Sept. 9, 1931, the daughter of Charles Rex and Helen Dora (Brunsell) Buckeridge. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She taught High School American History in Baraboo, WI. She retired from teaching early to care for her parents and other family members. Many knew her from her later efforts at the Evansville Review.
Margery traveled extensively and was very active in the community, including the Evansville Literary Club, Tourist Club, Dickens Fellowship, Whooping Crane Society, and the Grove Society. She took a special interest in local history, Architecture and her family's genealogy. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star. She was an active member of Evansville Congregational United Church of Christ and served in many volunteer positions.
Margery was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Rex Buckeridge, Helen Dora Brunsell Buckeridge; and her sister, Helen D.B. Drotning. She is survived by one niece, Helen Sears (Bob); and three nephews: Tom Drotning (Cheryl), Karl Drotning (Vickie) and Dan Drotning (Eileen); Grand Nieces, Nephews, numerous Cousins, and her many friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday April 26, 2014, at the CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 112 West Church Street, Evansville, with Reverend Dr. Luke Bocher officiating and a Eastern Star service provided by Columbia Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Beloit, WI. Memorials are preferred to Congregational United Church of Christ, Alzheimer's Association or the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, Dorathea Buckeridge Drotning Fund.
