1940 - 2014

Raymond Peter Lambert, 73, formerly of Janesville, and most recently of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Born in Madison, WI, Ray was the son of the late Raymond and Harriette (Liddell) Lambert. Ray, his mother, brother and sister moved to Janesville; and he attended Janesville Schools. In high school, he played the bass violin and was very good at it, practicing only about 10 minutes before his lesson, yet earning his instructor's praise. He was talented in most everything he did and particularly enjoyed playing cards and was next-to-impossible to defeat. Cribbage was a game he thoroughly enjoyed, dealing out lots of good-natured teasing along with powerful enthusiasm. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 until 1961 and then worked for Parker Pen. He, then, worked for General Motors for 42 years, beginning in 1962, until his retirement in 2004. Ray was a member of UAW Local 95 and of the Eagle Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.

Ray is survived by his wife, Pat (Brewer) Lambert; three sons: Brad (Joyce), Scott and Mitchell; three daughters, Amy (Clint) Clason, Michelle and Rebecca; two step-children, Kimberly (Neil) Booz and Kenneth Brewer; six grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bob (Dee); and sister, Kathy Foss.

Services were held in Tennessee.
