Snappers nearly no-hit in 5-0 loss

BELOIT—Lansing’s Kendall Graveman pitched 8 1/3 innings of no-hit ball, leading the Lugnuts to a 5-0 victory in Midwest League action Friday night at Telfer Park.

Beloit catcher Jose Chavez ruined Graveman’s no-hit bid with a single off the glove of shortstop Duwel Lugo. Chavez also walked in the third inning.

Beloit starter Dylan Covey did not allow a run until the fifth when Lansing scored three times. Covey fell to 0-2.

The Snappers and Lugnuts play again at 2 p.m. today.
