Kenneth H. Teisberg, Edgerton, WI (1926-2014)

Kenneth H. Teisberg, 88, of Edgerton, passed away late on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Ken was born on April 8, 1926, in the Town of Christiana, to the late Gilman Kenneth and Frieda (Krueger) Teisberg. He graduated from Milton High School and joined the Navy in June of 1944, serving as a Seaman 1st class during World War II, and was on the first ship in the Battle of Okinawa. He worked for A & B Sheet Metal. Ken married Janine "Jean" M. Oren on June 7, 1947, in Edgerton, WI. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church, Sheet Metal Workers Union, and the American Legion. Ken loved to go bowling, fishing, visit with his "adopted" daughters, and spend time with his family.
Ken is survived by four daughters: Jeri (Ron) Heimbecker, Sharon Wright, Patty (Jerry) Nanstad, and Kenlyn (Mark Sr.) Atkinson, all of Edgerton; his grandchildren: Karen (Jimm) Insolia of Janesville, WI, Jennifer Hamm of Milton, Jeff (Kara) Wright of Edgerton, Tim Nanstad of Edgerton, Michael (Stephanie Wicks) Nanstad of Edgerton, Kevin Nanstad of Edgerton, Courtney (Justin) Schultz of Milton, Hoss Atkinson of Edgerton, Daniel (Shanon) Atkinson of Edgerton, Bridget (Chad) Engebretson of Edgerton, Bonnie (Jeb Hemenway) Atkinson of Edgerton, and Sami Atkinson of Edgerton; great-grandchildren: Bret, Angie, Nicole, John, Erica, Travis, Justin, Courtney, Bubba Joe, Alex, Kelsey, Grace, Reilly: great-great-grandchildren, Sofi and Lilliana; his sister, Elaine; and special daughters: Debbie, Paula, Sue, Ruth, Denise, Joann, and Carolyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Teisberg; daughter, Deborah Lynn; grandson, Ronnie Wright; brother, Allen; and sister, Helen-June.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Jenson Cemetery with Military Rites being performed by the Edgerton Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES, EDGERTON, from 4 until 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at the CHURCH on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Ken's name to Agrace HospiceCare or Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
