Startup group expands to Walworth County
MILWAUKEE -- BizStarts, a nonprofit organization that connects entrepreneurial talent with resources that can help develop and launch innovative business ideas, is expanding its scope of services.
The five-year-old company is focusing on Walworth County and the surrounding area to offer a truly unique set of resources that are not only capable of helping entrepreneurs launch a businesses, according to company president Daniel Steininger.
That includes the launch April 10 of the BizForge Resource HUB at Schlitz Park in Milwaukee. Gov. Scott Walker toured the new BizForge office space, which will
serve as a collaborative resource hub for new businesses, offering work and meeting areas, as well as legal, technical, insurance, investor, and banking services.
"This is a great asset for the Milwaukee area and the state because start-ups and young companies are the engines of job creation and the foundation of long-term economic growth," Walker was quoted as saying in a news release. "This space will serve as a launching pad for new business by creating synergy through the efforts of entrepreneurs, mentors, and business leaders working together."
The BizForge Resource HUB will be Wisconsin's first collaborative endeavor that brings together virtually all of the players and resources necessary for an entrepreneur or a business leader of a growing company to succeed. The underlying theory is that the "wisdom of experts" has a far better chance of providing what entrepreneurs and business leaders need to succeed in the world of innovation.
BizForge will have three dedicated offices offering essential resources and coaching from our partners, including:
• An academic resource office that will tap expertise of area colleges and universities related to product assessment, business mentoring and research;
• A money, management and operations office that will provide access to sources of debt financing, assessment of talent and even construction services for those seeking to build facilities; and
• A "deal room" for negotiating equity investment in the companies that are investor-ready.
