Robert H. Consigny, age 83, of Janesville, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center. He was born in Madison, on July 4, 1930, the son of Harry and Frieda (Pett) Consigny. Bob graduated from UW- Madison in 1952, with a Bachelor of Science degree and then in 1955, from UW-Madison School of Law. Following graduation, he served in the US Army from 1955-1957, and was stationed at Fort Eustis, VA, as a First Lieutenant. He married Patricia Brazelton on June 18, 1954, in Milwaukee. Bob began his career in Janesville, in Dec. 1957, when he joined John Wickhem at his law practice. He continued to practice at his own firm, Consigny, Andrews, Hemming and Grant, until his death. Bob served the community in many ways. He was a member of Mercy Hospital Board of Directors, president of the First Lutheran Church Foundation and First Senior Housing, member of YMCA Board of Directors and President of YMCA Men's Club. He also served on the Rock County Board and on the City of Janesville Planning Commission.

Bob is survived by his wife, Patricia; four children: Steven Consigny and Jennifer (Kevin) McMullen, both of Janesville, Daniel Consigny of Madison, and Amy (Michael) Eckert of Milton; seven grandchildren: William and Anna McMullen, Bradley and Timothy Consigny, Emily, Bryce, and Charlie Eckert; two brothers, Ned (Barbara) Consigny of Pewaukee, and Thomas (Jean) Consigny of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Ellen Consigny.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. Jim Melvin and Rev. Naomi Garber officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY.
